Redbox Project

last night, gan ann shared with us a meaningful project we can participate in and bring some joy to the less fortunate during this CNY. It is called The Redbox Project wherein participants can prepare a shoebox filled with gifts for a kid between 2 - 18 years old.

Please read these simple guidelines to help you pack your shoebox with love and care.

1. Wrap the box nicely! It is, after all, a gift. The wrapping paper does not have to be red.
2. Choose who you are packing for, then print and fill up this label to indicate whether your box is intended for a 2-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl or so on.
3. Our beneficiaries are both boys and girls ranging from 2 to 18 years old, so pack gifts that will be pleasant and useful to your intended recipient. The gifts in each box should have a total value of $15 to $20.
4. Feel free to get together with a few friends to fill a box! It does not have to be one box per person. Do indicate, on the label, the number of people who contributed to the box.
5. Items in your box should be new and in perfect condition. Handmade items are acceptable.
6. Don’t seal your box! Wrap the lid and the box separately, and hold it shut with a rubber band if the lid is not secure.

Here are some suggested items that you can put in your box:

* Children: Toys, soft toys, stationery sets (pens, pencils, crayons, colour pencils etc), colouring books, picture books, craft sets
* Teens: Craft sets, storybooks, notebooks, toys (that are more appropriate for older ages), stationery, room décor items
