突然好想，好想去台湾。
因为很累，所以好想逃避。
我也没想到， 现在最向往的地方不是欧洲，不是西班牙， 不是日本或韩国。是台湾。是在旅行时，也有家的感觉的台湾。因为熟悉所以不害怕， 可以一个人很安心的去避难。
想去靠海的花莲，垦丁。 难受的时候，总是想去看海。

百万大歌星
yongbin, maggie, jfeng... remember this???
百万大歌星 is our absolutely 'favouritest' show (at least it my impression, it was!) even with so many channels on the taiwan tv network, we will definitely watch this if its on.
the nature of this gameshow is that the artiste contender will sing along to a song first with music and lyrics accompaniment. a few lines later, the music stops and the lyrics prompter goes off and the contender is supposed to complete the next line in the song.
watching the show is like having our own ktv & games time as we all guessed along with the contender. super fun! i miss those times & the show. now that i found it online, one more variety show added to my "online watch list"!
Here's a simple one, which we all guess correctly...

on the 10th day of taiwan, my true love sent to me...
(30th May) - Taipei // Jiufen 九份 >> WufenPu 五分埔
our first stop was to Jiufen, the town which Spirited Away was inspired by.
would love to see the nightscene of jiufen when the lanterns light up.

can notice from the last picture that Jiufen is situated on a mountain, so its alot of stairs and narrow alleys. 叶爸爸 told us to be careful not to fall lest we fall on someone's rooftop!
pardon the weird angle, i rotated it to show the how the house look like exactly, tier by tier.
a fantastic view of the ocean from the mountain
and they have tea houses like these that brings u closer to the sky and the sea.
how can we forget FOOD.

maggie n eu thinks you will not want to know about our shopping at WufenPu. I was too distracted to take pictures anyway. In short, it was humongous (imagine bugis street x 5 and its ALL CLOTHES) and we basically got ourselves lost within, esp without the boys as shopping time = the gender divide.
eu: "gie, will u be scared if i told you we're lost"
gie: "its ok, normal ah"
after dinner it rained heavily and we had to seek shelter in shops, alleyways which offers the littlest shelter from the rain. In the end we gave up and no choice but to scurry home to ye mama.

no trip to taipei is complete without going to SHILIN NIGHTMARKET.
and eating the 豪大鸡扒！
as an afterthought, i wished we could have experienced the shilin nightmarket in its entirety as the place gets more happening later at night and opens till 2am. =/ then again, i think the ye's may probably freak out. it was pretty amusing how they really act like our parents, calling us and asking us if we were going home already and making sure we knew what bus to take home.

on the 8th day of taiwan, my true love sent to me...
(28th May) - Taipei
eu in taipei - xin yi district
the renowned Taipei 101.
we realized that wearing slippers is a very singaporean thing. u seldom spot slippers in taipei, it usually canvas shoes at the very least.
it was also today that we moved into the ye's place and they brought us to the lin's steamboat place. LOOK AT THE SPREAD OF FOOD, the table was really filled to the brim.
and we actually gobbled them all up under the ye's ferocious feeding. Each of us took turns to say our thank-yous to lin mama over the phone - we were really deeply touched with all that hospitality and the welcome we received.
after dinner & a nightmarket later, it was KTV session at the ye's. This is us having fun with the KTV system, i think the ktv freaks in us could have sang the whole day long if we had such a system at home.
the hokkien karaoke queen and princess. hahaha
