over my caffeine dosage prior to Phantom of the Opera
i was just wondering how the river scene can be pulled off in a theatre
but everything was carried off so beautifully.
i was wrong when i thought cinematography helps make up for the details that lack on stage
i was sooo wrong.
theatre brings out the awe
put together by the sets,
of angels, chandelier, candles emerging from nowhere and enlarging right before your eyes
and a mirror which both reflects and yet you can still see the phantom behind it
by the glamourous costumes
and finally when the phantom trembled.

"Masquerade!
Paper faces on parade!
Masquerade!
Hide your face,
so the world will
never find you!
Masquerade!
Every face a different shade!
Masquerade!
Look around -
There's another
mask behind you!
Masquerade!
Burning glances,
turning heads . . .
Masquerade!
Stop and stare
at the sea of smiles
around you!
Masquerade!"
