80s rewind

finally had the chance to satisfy the karaoke craving with a new group of people - the ktv groupie from the HR gang. ktv totally unleashes this other side of people and its so hilarious. now we have videos that we can bribe each other with, which of course means it can't be shown to anyone! just imagine one doing her cantopop moves, another doing her para-para moves while singing to SMAP, EVERYONE doing retro moves to the GRASSHOPPERS' songs, at the actions to "对你爱爱爱不完".....

with chinese new year, midterm break in feb, there's more time for play! and to utilize the camera(s). highlights!

AHSCDS alumni dinner. our batch always has the most people during such alumni gatherings. they say we are the 'united' batch.

with yieng. people used to think we look alike during our secondary school days, even our parents. now we look very different from each other, but this picture somehow reminds me of how we look alike.

hanging out with dex. finally was able to put my camera to use, the last photo trip should be with gan to haji lane/geylang serai/clarke quay. we were on our way back to take the train when we discovered these cars lying neatly on the pavement, waiting to be transported back after a carnival. and the kids in us came out to play. F1!

and then the field trip to malacca.

the happiest moment was when liping and i got to baskin' robbins and got the much awaited ice-cream. baskin' robbins is my favourite ice-cream palour. I swear by their strawberry cheesecake ice-cream. best ice-cream ever. we were so happy after that. ahhhhhh =)

the actual trip itself was to a orchard. since we are there we entertained ourselves by taking pictures. this is talib, the professional "camera man" who happens to be my group member.

just picked 2 pictures i like the most from the collection of pumpkins, grapes etc i took. the picture of the lady bug was taken only after multiple tries because its really tiny, just slightly bigger than a rice grain. so proud of the final result, so national geographical.

and then there's today dinner with the mafia, which was supposed to be a CNY one but because its SO difficult for us to find a common time, we dragged till today. more pictures up when i get them! and time for joke of the day

a beautiful evening

spent a beautiful evening @ the botanical garden -with music, friends, families, kids, cheering. a splendid time, really. nicely wrapped at with dinner @ the wine company, sharing talks & laughs. nevermind the long walk, the sun shining on our faces, people killing my attempt to take a decent video by blatantly walking infront of me while i'm capturing sodagreen sing.... such simple happiness is well worth it to me.

*basically, my videos were a total failure because my hands were shaking, the focus was blur cos i used optical zoom and i have people blocking my shoot, at the point, i was basically filming this woman's crotch because she just blatantly walked infront of me. and yet again, i remind myself that my digital camera does a bad job for taking video and there are many out there who post nicer videos so i should not try.

it is funny hearing him sing "toxic", better than growling britney though! which reminds me, shar used to ADORE britney! i bet she's trying to forget that past now.

*the band name we can never catch is Ngak and the Ang Moh Pais. of course, Ngak refers to the lead singer who may be better known in the mando industry as 黄星魁

sodagreen !

gonna catch sodagreen perform at the Botanics Garden tomorrow. apparently they are guest appearance for this SPH gig - Jam On. =) what a nice way to kick start the midterm break and to celebrate after the BP midterms. hurrah!

on a note related to sodagreen: i heard from someone, i cant rem who, that 1 of my senior went on an exchange to Taiwan and spent much of his time chasing the skirts of sodagreen. and then there i am, watching my entertainment show online and saw him ...sitting first row watching them perform. there he was and there i am watching him watching them. not very pleasant sight, hahahaha. coincidentally, i happen to think that this senior of mine bears an uncanny resemblance to the keyboardist/percussionist/violinist of the band - 阿龚 in terms of his pattern/mannerism. hahahaha.

amidst the fun, i shall also be splitting myself between studying for a quiz and writing 4 papers.

comfortable in my own skin

i walked into wz's car with the initial aim of just going to ice-cream chefs for some sinful ice-cream but a phonecall later brought me to zouk for some random so-called adult activity of socialization. u can call me a cheena, an anti-social, a prude.. whatever you want, but staying true to myself means i really rather speak singlish/hokkien than squirm about listening to people speak in accented english, sing out loud and make the car my personal karaoke lounge than bob to club beats. it was like putting myself back to my rightful position when we excuses ourselves from the bar and headed ourselves to frogleg porridge in chinatown, speaking in our chapalang language of english, chinese, hokkien and cantonese. hanging out with people i really know.

now back home, i'm feeding myself with some soul from 方大同 khalil fong's latest album 未来. all i can say is that he's my idea of music and you really need to listen to him to know what i'm talking about. its amazing how some things, some people can make life seem more beautiful. like music for example. if i should want to find myself at a nightspot, it would be at a pub and this will be what i'd be feasting my ears on and accompanying my wine with. some good old jazz and soul.

1 day of MC later, it was back to school and celebrating vday with a movie (Jumper is great by the way, perhaps of my great deep desire to be a jumper too and fill my room with pictures taken from all over the world) followed with a totally screwed ass interview, a great time spent with shar just eating and talking right at her workplace, meeting back at school, tuition, alumni reunion dinner and chalet after that. like some non-stop activity. head is still hurting up till today....

alright. with all that said, the point is............... NO MORE PLAY. midterms coming right up with many other deadlines in sight.

fever

fell really sick yesterday. was feeling the hot and cold at the same time. i managed to tutor after 2 panadol and a nap but after that it got worse, and even as i crawled off to bed again in the evening, i felt like i was burning up my whole bed. in the end, my mum had to call my uncle for help to fetch me to the clinic as my dad was taking eons to get home.

i must have been a laugh cos there i was in with a shawl and a whole big box of tissue. haven't fell so sick in a long time. skipped school today and though I have many things to do, with at least 2 midterm paper next week, i just dont feel like doing anything.

and then there's the KTV tmr, interview on Friday, and the dinner + chalet. man, feel like just forgoing everything and sleep.

whats there not to love about Chinese New Year when it involves new clothes, a lot of food, a lot of people, bak kwa, ang bao, gambling, gatherings???

the annual CNY visit at muar = enough ringgit for my field trip to malacca, enough car miles to make my butt ache, enough too much food. although my wisdom tooth gave me alot of problem which controlled my food intake and had me whining in pain.

五月天 is having their concert on April 26th at the indoor stadium. $168. OH my TIAN.

climb team old fogies

i should not have a wii at home because
(1) i will not leave my house
(2) my right arm will be bigger than my left due to repeated right arm action
(3) i will wake up in the morning aching (like this morning)
(4) i have to risk looking like a retard while playing
(5) i will end up like feifei (and risk having no friends)

I should SO have a wii & hopefully tackey & tsubasa to play with.
