mire mire!

u are currently listening to "so nice" by Olivia Ong - who is a Singaporean and also a 1985. yes, all 23 years old like me but has a singing career which was first launched in Japan. She does bossa nova which is 1 genre of music i came to like.

i'm not very much musically inclined when it comes to playing instruments. but my music tolerance is rather wide from pop to rock to folk to R&B to jazz to soul to mando to canto to english, korean, japanese, EVEN bollywood. JUST EXCEPT opera, techno and trance.

For me I find it abit hard to differentiate some of the music genre like how to tell R&B and soul apart or jazz from bossanova, but i thought it would be a tad more respectful that i at least find out more about what I listen to.

Bossa nova is derived from brazil and is very much likened to jazz and samba. In fact, its style origin is from the Afro-American Jazz and the Brazilian Samba. The most popular would be the first bossa nova single "Girl from Ipanema". I did try searching for more bossa nova songs or singers but usually get only covers of the same old few songs so if anyone knows any popular or nice singers/songs, feel free to share!

leaving you with

Someone to hold me tight
That would be very nice
Someone to love me right
That would be very nice
Someone to understand
Each little dream in me
Someone to take my hand
And be a team with me

So nice, life would be so nice
If one day I'd find
Someone who would take my hand
And samba through life with me

Someone to cling to me
Stay with me right or wrong
Someone to sing to me
Some little samba song
Someone to take my heart
And give his heart to me
Someone who's ready to
Give love a start with me

Oh yeah, that would be so nice
I could see you and me, that would be nice
