stranded

day after day, she opens up the book of options. Thumbing her way through, underlining and crossing. With it, it seems that it’s all getting clearer. With all those crossing out, we are supposed to know. We were supposed to know. As if the act of elimination is supposed to direct her to a one clear absolute direction. It was supposed to be so. Until it seems like all the doors seem to be closing on her and there is nowhere to go.

It’s almost like spinning the globe and jamming that one finger in. There. The rule is to go where the finger points at. That’s the rule, but the reality is, we can’t get there.
